Section Assignment 1
Make your personal website
Why this assignment
You'll use an AI coding agent and GitHub throughout this course. This assignment sets up both tools on a small, low-stakes task you know well: yourself.
What to build
A one-page personal website, live at https://YOUR-USERNAME.github.io, with:
| Part | What it needs |
|---|---|
| About | Your name and a few sentences about you in your own words |
| Interests | A few things you're interested in |
| Project interests | What kinds of projects you'd like to work on in this course: topics, questions, or the kind of work you enjoy. Classmates will use this to find group partners for the final project. |
| Footer | One line crediting the AI tool, e.g. "Built with Codex. Text written by Jordan Rivera." |
You don't need a photo, a CV, contact details, or any coding knowledge. See the example site for the scale we have in mind.
To pass
- Your URL opens your page, not a 404 or the README.
- The page has the four parts above.
- The words are yours, and they're true. The agent may structure and style the page, but it must not invent facts about you.
What to submit
One link
https://YOUR-USERNAME.github.io
Before you submit, open the link in a private or incognito window to check that it works for everyone, not just you.
Privacy and access
- Only publish what you're comfortable having online. Leave out your phone number, address, and student ID.
- If you can't or don't want to host a public page, or if tool access or cost is a problem, contact your TA before the deadline.
